Switzerland (20 Minutes, Fre) – Both houses in the Swiss parliament have now given the green light to a country-wide system to alert officials and the public when a child is kidnapped. The Federal Council will now need to work closely with the cantons, who have responsibility in this area, to create a coordinated system. The measures agreed to by legislators include TV, radio and other media rapid alerts as well as MMS messages sent to mobile phone users in a set geographic area, that would include the child’s photo, description and an emergency number.
