Catholics, Protestants, Orthodox Christians and Jews - 1,200 people in all - will be reading from the Old and New Testaments on Italian television this week in what is being billed as Pope Benedict XVI’s Bible-reading marathon: he started it off Sunday with a reading from Genesis. Between reading sessions religious music is carried on RAI state TV, and “opera star Andrea Bocelli led the first interlude by singing Bach’s Praise The Lord,” notes The Irish Times.
