Bern, Switzerland (Le Temps, Fre) - Swiss authorities say they are “zen” about new attacks this week on the Swiss tax system by the German and French finance ministers, meeting in Paris.

The finance ministers, in a long-running argument with Switzerland, are questioning the Swiss definition of fiscal fraud. They insist that Swiss banking secrecy encourages tax evasion in other European countries. The Paris meeting pulls together only about half of the OECD members. According to Le Temps, it could spark old arguments again because the OECD has a mandate to create three lists of countries depending on their degree of transparency and willingness to discourage fiscal fraud. Germany’s finance minister wants to add Switzerland to the black list of least cooperative countries.
