Basel, Switzerland (GenevaLunch) - When it comes to developing scientists and engineers, Switzerland lags behind other European nations, so the Swiss federal government has decided it is time to implement new measures to remain competitive.

Economics minister, Doris Leuthard, has launched an initiative geared towards promoting science in schools across the nation. This includes internet sites to ease communication between Swiss companies and schools. These sites would be used to identify each other’s needs, and exchange information. As part of the initiative, students will be exposed more frequently to “science days”  in order to promote mathematics, the natural sciences, and technology.
