Bern, Switzerland (GenevaLunch) - More than 100,000 people are officially unemployed in Switzerland, and the number could go higher.

According to national figures, released 7 November, more than 4,000 people registered for unemployment during October. It is estimated that the unemployment rate could go up an additional 3.5 percent, or an additional 40,000 people, by 2009.
