Brooklyn, New York, USA (GenevaLunch) – Russian-American singer and songwriter Regina Spektor has announced she and other musicians will perform a fundraising concert in memory of Daniel Cho who drowned Tuesday 6 July while swimming with a friend near the Chillon Castle in Montreux, Switzerland.
Spektor, a guest at this year’s Montreux Jazz Festival says on her Facebook page that the 27 September concert in his memory is “to benefit his wife Julia and their daughter Audrey,” who turned two 20 September.
“Lots of wonderful musicians will honour him by playing a few songs each,” she adds.
Cho, a well-known tour musician who previously played with Coldplay, John Mayer and Katy Perry among others, drowned the day prior to the band’s debut in Montreux.
Spektor, however, did not cancel the show and went on to appear at the Stravinsky Hall, dedicating the concert to Cho.
