N Italy: second big earthquake kills at least six Tuesday morning

GENEVA, SWITZERLAND – The area around Modena in northern Italy had a second earthquake Tuesday morning 29 May, 5.8, just nine  days after a magnitude 6 earthquake hit the area. At least six people are known to have died, Italian media are reporting, with many more under rubble. The earlier earthquake, also near Modena, killed seven people and caused enormous damage.

The earthquake struck at 09:00 and was felt across northern Italy, including Bologna, and as far south as Florence.
