GENEVA, SWITZERLAND – US Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney is expected to submit Friday 1 June his personal financial statement to election authorities.
Earlier this month, Forbes magazine reported that the presidential candidate, whose current net worth is estimated at $230 million, had sold most of his holdings in individual stock last year and converted it into cash.
Last year, the candidate had submitted a 28-page long financial statement to election officials.
Romney is not the richest candidate to have run for the US presidency, as Ross Perot, who had run in 1992, was ten times wealthier. The ex-governor of Massachusetts would be the richest occupant of the White House should he win the November election.
