Lagos air crash kills 147 on board

GENEVA, SWITZERLAND – A Dana Air flight from Lagos to Abuja in Nigeria crashed into a two-storey house in Lagos Sunday 3 June, say the country’s air authorities. The flight was reportedly carrying 147 persons, although initial reports said 153, and officials believe all were killed in the crash and fire that followed. The crash occurred in “a densely populated residential area in the Iju/Shaga area of Lagos,” reports the Daily Trust.

It is not yet clear if anyone was in the buildings, according to AllAfrica, which carries reports on the crash from several African news sources.
