“You got me”, Canada’s presumed ghoulish murderer, to Berlin police

GENEVA, SWITZERLAND – The man presumed to be behind the murder of 32-year-old Chinese student Jun Lin in Montreal, and who then mailed the body parts to members of parliament among others, has been arrested in Berlin. Luca Rocca Magnotta was tracked to France, where he is believed to have gone the day after the murder, and from Paris to Berlin, where police arrested him Monday morning 4 June in a cybercafe.

An Interpol Red Alert was issued for him over the weekend. Police in Canada say he filmed the death of Jun Lin, who was identified only at the end of the week; arrangements are being worked on for his family to travel to Canada.

He was caught when the owner of the Internet cafe recognized him, stepped out onto the street and flagged down a passing police van to tell them, reports Reuters.
