Health alert: allergy emergency product recall

BERN, SWITZERLAND – The UK manufacturer of Anapen and Anapen Junior, AllergyCare, is recalled the self-injection emergency products because they may fail to release the full dose of the product. Replacements will be available in July. The manufacturer of the auto-injectors has become aware that some of these products may fail to release the active pharmaceutical ingredient (an adrenaline solution), or only release it partially, because of a possible blockage of the needles.

The product is an emergency self-injection of adrenaline in the case of acute allergic reactions: for example after consuming nuts or following a wasp sting.

Alternative products can be requested from doctors, in the meantime.
