LAUSANNE, SWITZERLAND – A 34-year-old Romanian woman who was shot to death on a street in Payerne was a registered prostitute, say canton Vaud police, who found her body at 23:00 Tuesday night 12 June, after they received reports that three shots had been heard. First reports indicate that the suspect shot her in the street and fled.
Her death led immediately to a large manhunt that resulted in the arrest in the early hours of Wednesday of a suspect, a Swiss man about 30 years old who lives in canton Vaud and who is being questioned.
