LAUSANNE, SWITZERLAND – An accident Wednesday shortly before noon in the Lavaux area, involving three vehicles, has left two adults in critical condition and two children with light injuries. The lake road in the area was closed for most of the afternoon for the investigation into the crash. A 22-year-old driver who was heading from the Pigeon intersection towards Forel lost control of his car, which swerved to the left into the path of three oncoming vehicles.
The first car, whose driver pulled sharply to the right to avoid a collision, was pushed to the left. The second car avoided crashing but the youth’s car crashed head-on into the third car, leaving both drivers in critical condition. The five- and six-year-old children traveling with their mother in the third car were slightly injured.
