GENEVA, SWITZERLAND – A two-year-old has died and his seven-year-old brother is in critical condition after the two children got through a security gate and climbed into the family swimming pool in Fully, canton Valais. The accident occurred Thursday evening 16 August at 18:30.
The boys’ mother had gone into the house for a moment, leaving the pair on the terrace, and when she returned she saw that they had gone through the fence. She immediately dived into the pool but both children had lost consciousness, say Valais police. They were both flown by helicopter to the Sion hospital, where the youngest child died during the evening. The older son was later transferred to the Chuv university hospitals in Lausanne.
