Apple’s $622b makes it “most valuable company of all time”

GENEVA, SWITZERLAND – Steve Jobs would have loved it, and all his fans and customers certainly do: Apple on Monday 20 August became what more than one business writer is calling the “most valuable company of all time”. Its market capitalization hit $622 billion, well above the previous record, set in 1999 by rival Microsoft, which rose to $616b.

Exxon, the second largest company by market capitalization, was at $405b Monday.
