Local driver killed on A1 in pileup in Morges

LAUSANNE, SWITZERLAND – A 46-year-old Swiss man who lives in the region was killed on the A1 at the Morges Ouest (west) autoroute exit, in the direction of Aubonne/Geneva, Thursday evening 24 August at 20:40. A sudden pileup as drivers braked due to roadworks caused the man, who was driving a Twingo, to crash into a Renault Scénic, with one person, who crashed into a Honda, with two people.

The driver of the Twingo was not wearing a seatbelt, Vaud police say.

The drivers and passenger of the other cars were not injured.

The autoroute in that direction was closed until 02:00 for the investigation.
