GENEVA, SWITZERLAND – Former Swiss President Ruth Dreifuss has been given the 2012 Fondation de Genève award for her humanitarian work, notably fighting Aids, durgs and the death penalty.
More than 700 guests are invited to the awards ceremony 24 September at Victoria Hall. The award has previously gone to other illustrious Genevans, by birth or adoption, including Denis Duboule in 2011 for his world-recognized work on genetics, Jean Starobinski, Olivier Fatio and Kofi Annan.
