LAUSANNE, SWITZERLAND – The roof of the Alcazar Theatre in the centre of Montreux suddenly burst into flames Thursday evening shortly after 21:00, for reasons that are not yet clear. Firefighters were quickly on the scene and there were no injuries, but police set up detours in the area while the fire was doused.
The Alcazar, a beautiful example of baroque architecture, was the scene of many balls and banquests hosted by the last Empress of Austria, Sissi.
