GENEVA, SWITZERLAND – The bank account in Geneva opened by the father of Saad al-Hilli has not been touched in recent months, the French prosecutor in the murder case says. Al-Hilli was murdered near Annecy 5 September, along with his wife and mother-in-law; the couple’s two daughters escaped, but one was seriously injured. He had been in a legal dispute with his brother over their inheritance and the Geneva account, opened about 10 years ago, was blocked by Swiss authorities at the request of investigators, public television station RTS was told in early October.
The amount in the account is reportedly just over CHF1 million, according to an ats news agency report based on information given at a press conference 18 October in Annecy.
