Presenting the ATOM Project and opening the exhibition in Geneva on 19 November will be Kanat Saudabayev, Director of the Nazarbayev Center and Chair of the Presidential Commission on Non-Proliferation of Weapons of Mass Destruction. Mr Saudabayev is also an ex-Secretary of State and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
While in Geneva, he is expected to hold bilateral meetings with the President of International Committee of the Red Cross, Peter Maurer, and with the Director of United Nations Institute for Disarmament Research, Theresa Hitchens.
In addition, a photographic exhibition titled ‘A Lesson in Peace: Dismantling the Soviet Nuclear Weapons Program in Kazakhstan’ will also be launched.
The two exhibitions are open to UN visitors from 20-30 November at the Exhibition Hall of the UN Palais des Nations.
