The graphic truth about Swiss climate change

BERN, SWITZERLAND – MeteoSwiss Tuesday made available to the public a new climate change database that provides a host of historic data on precipitation, temperature change, the seasons and other aspects of climate change in Switzerland.

Some of the measurements, for certain parts of the country, can be checked back to 1864, for example, the number of days at the Geneva-Cointrin measuring station when the temperature has been over 25C, clearly on the rise.

Others are available from 1961, and some interesting comparisons arise, for example, it appears that the number of days with fresh snow have been falling slightly since 1960 in Andermatt, but taken since 1864, the snowfall curve is on the rise.
