Teen falls 10m from chairlift in Graubuenden

Only facial injuries as deep snow breaks her fall

ZURICH, SWITZERLAND – A 13-year-old girl suffered only facial injuries when she fell 10 metres from a chairlift in Marguns, near Celerina, in canton Graubuenden, Wednesday, cantonal police say. Soft, deep snow broke her fall, reducing the injuries she might have sustained on a harder surface.

The girl was skiing with her 16-year-old sister; the pair were taking lessons with three other people. During the lunch break she and her sister took a lift with four other people and for unknown reasons she slipped and fell out of the chair.
