Basejumper disappears near St Gallen, private jet crashes near Annemasse

GENEVA, SWITZERLAND – The week is off to a deadly start, with reports coming in that a private jet crashed on a farm near the Annemasse airport in the French Alps early Monday 4 March. Two people died and one was injured in the accident, but the cause of the crash, shortly before 09:00, is not yet known.

Rescue operations Sunday in canton St Gallen have not yet found a 30-year-old Austrian basejumper who has gone missing. He was jumping with a fellow Austrian, age 25, who reported his friend missing when he reached the ground and could not find the other man. The pair were jumping from an area called Sputnik at Unterwasser.
