BERN, SWITZERLAND – Lausanne, along with Bern and Winterthur, has its own stamp as of 5 September, as part of Swiss Post’s Swiss cities philately collection. The country’s 10 largest cities are being given a fresh face on stamps, a three-year project that began in 2012 with Basel, Geneva and Zurich. The Basel Design School is working with Swiss Post on the project.
The CHF1 stamps can be bought at post offices or online starting Thursday and may be used as ordinary stamps. The new collection includes, in addition to the cities, animals, the CHF20 vreneli and Smurfs.
