Swiss Army enjoys Lake Geneva and the sunshine in St Prex on Friday

St Prex, Switzerland (GenevaLunch) – Weekend temperatures in the 12-24C range and sunshine almost everywhere: Indian summer appears to be well underway in Switzerland. Even the Swiss Army, doing duty in St Prex, couldn’t resist a bit of sunbathing. Monday is a holiday everywhere in Switzerland except Geneva: it’s the jeune federal. In Vaud, traditionally a conservative, Protestant canton, most businesses including shops are closed. In Valais, mostly Catholic and fiercely independent, businesses and shops tend to stay open and the observance of the holiday is minimal.
