Switzerland (Le Temps, Fre) – Furniture giant IKEA will not lower prices for its products in Switzerland this year, despite 15% growth in profits for the 2006-2007 fiscal year. The Swedish giant points to high prices for materials, and adds that Swiss consumers have been largely unaffected by the mortgage crisis in the United States, with spending remaining strong.

Ikea Switzerland’s expansion plans include a new store in St Gallen, currently under construction, and stores in Rothenburg, Lucerne and Vernier, Geneva.
