Vevey, Switzerland (24 Heures, Fre) – Christmas Eve, 24 December 2006, and something went terribly wrong in the home of an aging millionaire in Vevey, but what exactly happened appears to be unclear and will have to be decided by a court this year. 24 Heures says it has obtained a copy of the charges, which include murder, against the son of a woman who died. On the one hand the story reads like an Agatha Christie tale, says the newspaper, with millions made by the architect father who died in 1991, the son cut off financially by the mother, a daughter who disappeared, and the violent death of the mother, in her eighties, and a friend of hers. On the other hand, the defense for the accused says the deaths were not necessarily due to blows, no murder instrument has been found and the sister has simply disappeared, so her death is only an assumption.
