Bern, Switzerland (Swissinfo) – Three soldiers died, two were still missing late Thursday and five were in hospital following an accident on the Kander River near Wimmis, canton Bern. The men were in two rubber dinghies that overturned for unknown reasons in water that was not flowing at an unusual rate, although they were on a part of the river considered difficult and closed to commercial rafting. The three who were found were wearing helmets and life vests. Some 80 people were involved in the search, which has been called off for the night.
