
Geneva, Switzerland (GenevaLunch) – The local hockey team lost a forward to Russia, but it is now taking one from them: Tony Salmelainen who plays in the Russian Super League.
The hiring was confirmed today by the Geneva-Servette Hockey Team. Salmelainen, a Finn who has also played with the NHL is 27 years-old, 1m76 and weighs 83 kg.
According to The Globe and Mail, the new winger left his contract in Canada for the Russian league when he was offered more than $1.5 Million to play at the Super League. No word on how much the Eagles have signed him for.
