Vevey, Switzerland (Le Temps, Fre and TSR, Fre) – The trial of François L for the Christmas 2005 murder of his 80-year-old mother and her elderly friend, and the disappearance the day of the crime of his sister Marie-José, turned into a display of family passions Thursday. The lawyer for the older brother of the accused took the stand to argue that François should not be able to touch a centime of the family money, which runs to the millions. The father of the accused accumulated a fortune in real estate.

Jean-Marc, the oldest in the family, through his lawyer called the adopted younger brother a manipulator and troublemaker who turned violent when he learned his mother was not planning to loan him a large amount of money to pay his debts. The family’s inheritance was a subject of heated dispute, it became clear, well before the murder, with the oldest brother angering his mother when he tried to get power of attorney to protect her from the younger brother.
