Bern, Switzerland (Le Temps, Fre) – Patrick Krauskopf, vice-director of the Comco, Switzerland’s competition commission, has told his associates he will be leaving the post he’s held for the past 10 years, according to Willy Boder of Le Temps, who interviewed him Wednesday evening about how the commission works.
Krauskopf cited a need for the confederation to do more to keep its young legal staff, pointing out that once they are trained by Comco and get to know the markets well, they are snapped up by private industry, which pays them twice as much. He has had responsibility for the industry and production team of 15 that has handled several major competition files such as the Migros-Coop-Denner monopoly issues and Swatch’s role in the watchmaking industry.
