Bern, Switzerland (24 Heures, Fre) – The Swiss army temporarily suspended a rule put in place earlier in 2008 that allows soldiers on guard duty to carry loaded weapons.

The decision comes after months of heated debate about the legality but also the wisdom of having guards carry rifles with bullets, with incidents during the year where the guns were accidentally discharged.
