Shanghai, China (GenevaLunch) – Lewis Hamilton took a major step towards his first F1 championship by winning in Shanghai.

It was a straightforward and rather dull race as Hamilton led from pole position into the first turn and gradually built up his lead over the two Ferraris of Felipe Massa and Kimi Raikkonen, who finished second and third after the Finnish driver allowed his teammate to pass.

Hamilton need only finish in fifth place in the final race in Brazil to win the title, as he has a seven-point lead over Massa. But F1 fans are not likely to forget that in 2007 he blew a 17-point lead going into the last two races. Details,  Guardian, UK
