New York, NY, USA (GenevaLunch) - British runner Paula Radcliffe retained her title in the New York marathon with her third successive win.
She pulled away in the 36th km to win comfortably from Russian Ludmila Petrova and Kara Goucher, the first American to make the podium since 1994. Radcliffe still has a way to go before matching Norwegian Grete Waitz who won nine times.
Brazilian Marilson Gomes dos Santos took the men’s race. Details, CNN
