Bern, Switzerland (GenevaLunch) – One of the popular attractions at the World Expo 2010 Shanghai, the largest-ever world fair, could well be a Swiss cablecar that “in a few seconds” will take visitors from city to countryside, playing on one of the fair’s themes: rural and urban interaction.
Switzerland will participate in two places, its own 4,000 m2 pavilion and another for the world’s great cities, where Basel, Zurich and Geneva will demonstrate Swiss solutions for sustainable water resources.
“Better City, Better Life” is the overall theme for the Shanghai Expo, which will have 200 exhibitors and will cover 5.25 km2. Presence Switzerland is responsible for the Swiss exhibits, which will focus in both areas on Switzerland as a country noted for innovation, urbanism and environmental awareness. Johannes Matyassy, head of Presence Switzerland, calls the fair extremely important for Switzerland, which will be able to highlight the diversity that is one of the country’s strengths.
