Chexbres, Vaud, Switzerland (TSR, Fre) - The A9 autoroute, down to two lanes between Belmont and Chexbres for the past two days, will have four lanes starting Friday night, cantonal road authorities say.
Traffic slowdowns were better Thursday than Wednesday, when there were 8 km tailbacks, reports TSR, but A9 officials are urging drivers who are heading for Valais to leave after 20:00 Friday night to help traffic flow better. Roadworks to repair a bridge joint will continue until December, but after today and the emergency work will be finished and roadworks will be done at night.
