(GenevaLunch) – England were handed a lesson in discipline by Australia as they conceded penalties and were short on ideas despite controlling possession for much of the match.

The English kicking was also weak. Australia won 14-28.

Scotland were beaten 10-14 by the Springboks despite holding a 10-0 lead at half time. With better goal kicking Scotland might have pulled off a rare victory.

The New Zealand All-Blacks beat Ireland 3-22 but it was a pity that the most influential man on the field was referee Lawrence who handed out two yellow cards and a penalty try. Other results included Argentina beating Italy14-22 and France beating the Pacific Islands 42-17. Details, Telegraph, UK
