Geneva, Switzerland (GenevaLunch) – IPAS Architects in Neuchatel have been selected to build the new Maison de la Paix in Geneva, although the jury’s decision needs final approval by the Board of the Graduate Institute of International and Development Studies, known in French as IHEID.

The board in January gave the mandate to architect Charles Kleiber to supervise the development of a campus for the school, which opened in early 2008 as a result of two Geneva university institutes being combined. Kleiber has overseen the work of two juries, one to select architects for the Maison de la Paix, which will house the Graduate Institute, and the other to select architects for the student dormitories. Lacroix and Chessex, Geneva architects, have been selected to build the dormitories. The winning bids will be on display in Geneva at the International Conference Center from 3-17 December.

In addition to the Graduate Institute, the Maison de la Paix, to be completed by 2012, will house the Geneva Centre for Security Policy, the Geneva International Centre for Humanitarian Demining and the Geneva Centre for the Democratic Control of Armed Forces.
