Vasily Aleksanyan, former vice-president of Yukos, Russian company whose leaders were arrested in 2006 on suspicion of embezzlement and tax fraud, was given permission by the Moscow City Court to leave prision. Aleksanyan, who is suffering from lymphatic cancer, tuberculosis and Aids and has nearly lost his eyesight, will be freed on bail of 50 million rubles ($1.78 million) if the money is raised, the Moscow Times reports, saying that earlier this year he accused the government of withholding Aids treatment to force him to testify against his former employer.
