Geneva, Switzerland (GenevaLunch) - Geneva Airport registered 11.58 million passengers in 2008, a 5.7% increase over 2007.
The airport had 190,000 flights moving in and out of the airport, an increase of 1.5% which the airport says indicates that commercial flights had a high occupancy rate, and this despite the morose economic picture in the airline industry in 2008.
2009 appears to be off to a good start with the weekend of 3-4 January showing 110,000 passengers, the second-highest traffic weekend on record.
