Geneva, Switzerland (GenevaLunch) – Geneva police confirmed to GenevaLunch Thursday morning that the Tamil protest in front of the United Nations building 4 February grew during the afternoon to 10,000 people.
Police reinforcements were sent for additional security and the front entrance to the UN was closed; the protestors dispersed without incident and by 19:00 the number was down to 1,000 people.
Switzerland has an estimated 3,000 Tamils, with more groups living in France, according to Tamil groups.
