Grindelwald, Switzerland (Tribune de Geneve and TSR, both ats reports Fre) – Two young Swiss climbers are presumed dead after rescue workers, who could not reach them, said they spotted, from a helicopter, what appeared to be the two bodies. Few details are available: names will not be published until the bodies are recovered. Bad weather has hampered the rescue operation, with strong winds and a high danger of avalanches.
The two, both experienced climbers, had climbed the north face of the Eiger. They were spotted at 3,800 metres on the west face of the mountain.
