Melbourne, Australia (GenevaLunch) - The newly formed Brawn GP team, sponsored by Richard Branson’s Virgin, made a perfect start to the season when Jenson Button and Rubens Barrichello took the first two places in their debut race: the first team to do so since Mercedes-Benz in 1954.
Lewis Hamilton started in 18th place but came through the field to take third place, after Toyota’s Jarno Trulli was given an after race penalty that moved him down the field. Button started in pole position and his lead was only briefly threatened by a loss of about five seconds in a pit stop. Both Ferraris failed to finish. Sebastian Vettel, with Red Bull, spent much of the race in second place but was forced out after a crash with Robert Kubica.
Swiss driver Sebastien Bueni, driving for Toro Rosso in his first F1 race, came in seventh.

Great to see Buemi doing well, maybe his success will have the Swiss authorities relax the laws on racing……
