Basel, Switzerland (TSR, Fre) – Swiss tennis star Roger Federer will play in the Monte Carlo Rolex tennis tournament that opens Sunday 12 April, after having earlier said he would not appear there.
The organizers held a wildcard spot for him and can now boast they will have nine of the world’s top 10 men players. Federer has lost his last three Monte Carlo tournaments to Rafael Nadal in the finals.

Re Federer. I am delighted that Federer is going to play. He should be there at the first Claycourt event of the year. It would not be the same without him.
Looking forward to this tournament starting Sunday.
