Lausanne, Switzerland (GenevaLunch) - Canton Vaud, alarmed by the growing number of citizens whose household budgets are deteriorating badly, is setting up a debt hotline for people drowning in debt.
Two types of service are provided: a quick analysis of the situation affords the caller with first-line advice on how to better manage his or her budget. And if need be, the caller will be directed to the canton’s specialized services, aimed at young people, young families and the unemployed.
The canton recognizes that the economic situation could worsen for many people, and its hotline is part of pre-emptive action targeted at particularly vulnerable groups.
The service is provided by the canton’s Department of Health and Social Services, in partnership with Caritas, the Centre Social Protestant, consumer group FRC and the city of Lausanne.
Hotline: 0840 4321 00 (18 hours a week)
