Switzerland (GenevaLunch) – Names of those who died in the Air France crash in the Atlantic Monday 1 June are gradually making it into media around the world. In Switzerland, police in Vaud say that a man from the area was on the plane, but they will not make details public. The Tribune de Geneve and its sister newspaper 24 Heures published news of the death of Christophe Paus, 32, a neurosurgeon at the Chuv (University Hospitals) in Lausanne but it is not clear if he is the Vaud resident known to police. A total of six Swiss were reported to be on the plane.
Among those from other countries, known to have been on the flight:
France: 10 employees of CGED, a company in Limoges, who had won a trip to Brazil, and their spouses, and three employees of Michelin. Figaro
Ireland: two Aer Lingus staff, unnamed, and three young doctors, on a holiday together: Eithne Walls, 29, Aisling Butler, 26, and Jane Deasy, 27. Walls had danced with the Riverdance Troupe before studying medicine and was a well-known performer who had worked in several countries. Irish Times
US: Michael and Anne Harris, formerly of Houston. He worked for Devon Energy. CNN
UK: Alexander Bjoroy, an 11-year-old pupil at Clifton College preparatory school in Bristol, England and Arthur Coakley, 61, a businessman from Whitby, North Yorkshire, Graham Gardner from Scotland, 52, who had been working on an oil rig, Neil Warrior, London, 40s, a public relations manager for Mazda and Dr Jose Souza, 35, a dental surgeon from Reading.
