Istanbul, Turkey (GenevaLunch) – Jenson Button drove his Brawn GP car to his fourth consecutive Formula 1 victory. He has now won six of the seven races this season. He then thanked the team for producing a “monster of a car.” Only four other drivers have won six of the first seven, Alberto Ascari, Juan Manuel Fangio, Jim Clark and Michael Schumacher (twice).
Button started second, with Sebastian Vettel on pole for Red Bull but the German driver went wide on a bend on the first lap and Button took the lead, which he retained till the end of the race. Mark Weber finished second for Red Bull and Vettel came third.
Toyota’s Jarno Trulli finished fourth, followed by Nico Rosberg in his Williams, matching his best performance of the season. Felipe Massa came sixth for Ferrari while defending champion Lewis Hamilton came 13th after a disastrous qualifying session.
