Brussels, Belgium (GenevaLunch) – The European Union’s transport commissioner, Antonio Tajani, called for a worldwide blacklist of unsafe airlines, at a press conference in Brussels Tuesday morning 30 June, following the crash of a Yemeni airlines Airbus near the Comoros Islands.

He noted that while the airline is not on the existing European airlines blacklist, passengers had changed planes in Sanaa and he would like to see investigations into French allegations that the plane was unsafe. The airline is reported as saying that the airplane was checked in May, in Yemen, under Airbus supervision.
