Update 18 July 08:40 Turnberry, Scotland (GenevaLunch) – Veteran golfer Tom Watson sunk two monster putts on the last few holes to head the leaderboard at the Open at Turnberry after two days.
He shares the lead with fellow American Steve Marino, a last minute replacement drafted into the tournament. The 59-year-old Watson played a fine back-nine to score a level par on a day when the weather and tough pin placements meant that many stars scored well over par.
Tiger Woods ended the day five over par, missing the cut for the first time since 2006.
