[public health video] Switzerland (GenevaLunch) – The fight against the A/H1N1 virus in the French-speaking part of Switzerland is taking on a new face, a drag face.
The Federal Office of Public Health has started its swine flu awareness media campaign, “United against the flu” with a bit of humour: a comedian dressed in drag.
The campaign which began 27 July follows worldwide efforts to combat the spread of the virus. As GenevaLunch previously reported, two Australian drugs manufacturers have begun clinical trials of a vaccine for humans against the A/H1N1 swine flu.
Media campaign with a twist
In related news, a report published Monday 27 July estimates that an epidemic of the A/H1N1 swine flu in Switzerland could cost the country as much as 1.1% of its National Gross Product. Radio Suisse Romande (RSR) carries an audio report in French.
A national hotline has been set up with information in the three Swiss official languages, French, German and Italian: +41 31 322 21 00
Additional sources: Swissinfo offers the video with English subtitles.
